The Locks & Keys Module of ISMS enables you to maintain a complete record of every key in your organization and who it is issued to. This module interfaces with the Personnel Management module to help ensure that no one outside of your organization is inadvertently issued a key.

All copies of a particular key should be grouped together in a Key Set. These Key Sets identify the type of key (door, padlock, etc.), the Site, the Building, and the Room Number where the lock is located. If additional copies of the key are made, they should be added to the Key Set. And, if keys are lost or destroyed, they should be so annotated. In this manner, a continuous record is kept of the total number of keys, the status of each key, and how many keys are available to be issued.
